  16. This memo presents an elaboration of the SNMP administrative model set
  17. forth in RFC 1157.  This model provides a unified conceptual basis for
  18. administering SNMP protocol entities to support authentication and
  19. integrity, privacy, access control, and the cooperation of multiple
  20. protocol entities.  This RFC is the product of the SNMP Security
  21. Working Group of the IETF.

  23. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

  25. This document specifies an IAB standards track protocol for the
  26. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  27. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "IAB
  28. Official Protocol Standards" for the standardization state and status
  29. of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
